burst open

Our hometown is where Storypeople are created. Last night we walked the streets of downtown; admiring through the windows the Christmas displays, giggling as we ran across the near empty streets.

We hoped we could see the Storypeople workshop, but it was dark; boxes and brushes in the shadows, but on the other side of the store was some beautiful furniture, colorful frames and one particular vase that made my heart stop beating for a second or two, it said:

"There has never been a day when I have not been proud of you, though some days I'm louder about other stuff so it's easy to miss that."

In a long Thanksgiving weekend away from home with horrible, screwed-up naps, crying over turning off the television and refusing to drink anything other than orange juice, I just wanted to scream something out loud, I'm so proud of you, every day there is a moment that makes me feel like I'm simply going to burst open.

What a beautiful quote! Being a mom is probably the most difficult AND the most rewarding job! Looking forward to meeting you at Cupcake '10!

I really need that vase! Although, I have to agree with Capital Mom there. Maybe if I tattooed it I would remeber it.

So how was Thanksgiving? Did you go to your parents?
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. And I hope the boys enjoyed their holiday. Sounds like shopping was fun, did you come home with anything besides the vase?

Do you remember the book that came with our Decorah Women's Weekend pack? I bawled through it and then mailed it to a cancer survivor friend of mine. Doesn't it make you think that you can truly do anything you want to?

Okay (or as Mad would say, "Ah wight, ah wight, ah wight!"), I knew I didn't get out much, but seriously, where the heck have I *been*? I've never even heard of Storypeople until tonight. And in the few minutes since I've "discovered" them (ahem... thanks), I have shot off an email to Tom with the trunk I want to get for Mad's birthday and made an email full of links for the person who got my name in the gift exchange. Yay!

And you know, I would say that until Corey was about seven... maybe even nine, I was pretty darned confident that I was doing everything that was best for him. Imagine my chagrin when I realized how wrong I was. My point? Don't beat yourself up for the errors that you might be making. Awareness is key to changing or improving. And I'd be willing to bet you're doing a great job.

ASM I am sorry I have been slammed w/guest blogging and sickness.

I just read this and it made me cry.

The photo is incredible...

Hey I got your DM thru twitter. Hugs hun, thanx for the gratitude. I feel the same.

I am going to be asking my readers to send me found objects for the boys. You know I am home schooling M style and they have a nature component. I want to intro the boys (not to sharp objects tho) to stuff...

I'd love for you and your kids to send me something they would normally geocache? For the found object box. With that, I will tell the boys about you...

Someday, I am SURE we will meet.

Hugs, the grey lady

crazy idea i know but how do u think credit cruch affected porn?

Anonymous said...

does anyone think porn is the only business still thriving during the credit cruch? I think many folks seek refuge in buying and wanking porn during the crunch
