Got Milk?

This wasn't all for Wyatt. I donated 500 ounces to the International Breast Milk Project. You can too.

Ode to my Mom

As my blog states, I'm not a Supermom, I'm an anti-Supermom. I'm letting the truth out, say putting it all on the 'table', I cannot make a roast. My mother didn't enjoy cooking and so she never passed on cooking skills. I'm embarrassed by this, not my mother, but the roast. I believe it's suppose to be easy; you put it into a crockpot with some vegetables and turn it on? Really, I don't know what else to add so I put some seasoning salt on it and viola eight hours later I had a very blah dinner.

I don't ever recall my mother opening a cookbook to make dinner, she just seemed to have it all memorized. To add, I really liked most everything my mother made, minus meatloaf, which funny enough turns out to be my son, Henry's favorite. So this may turn out to be a ode to my mother's cooking. Love you, Mom.

In another, completely unrelated anti-Supermom moment. I was excited about it being Wednesday, this is my night to volunteer (in other words, I get out of the house without kids). The morning started with Henry vomiting all night long, passed on from Wyatt who was doing the same only two days earlier. I didn't know that I would end the afternoon with Henry moaning on the couch, being covered in vomit by the other baby that I watch and my husband coming home to him feeling 'a little under the weather' (which of course, turned out to be horrible night for him too). So, when it came to leave, I couldn't do it. I stayed home with my family that needed me. See, I can be a good Mom sometimes.

Oh yes, if anyone knows how to make a roast, please feel free to leave a comment.

American Gladiators

The finale of American Gladiators was on Sunday night. This show quickly became my son, Henry's favorite new thing. We (I mean Dan) have created an obstacle course in our house to mimic the 'Eliminator Round' of American Gladiators. Henry loves it! Yes, we have even had friends over to have their kids join in the course. You can watch a video of Henry doing a version of this course.

What I myself really liked about the show was the woman who won. I was in awe and have to admit, very envious. She is in great physical condition, she's a true 'Hot Mom'. The winner is a stay-at-home mom of two girls. She supposedly wins 100,000 dollars and will become a Gladiator in the next season. My real beef is her saying that she is busy 'making lunches and shuttling the girls around'. What I really believe is that she's shuttling those girls off to school then gets her butt to the gym for four hours or so a day. So, this is the anti-Supermom in me, where is she slacking then if her time is spent in the gym? Is her bathroom dirtier than a trucker's toilet? Are there dust bunnies under her furniture that are 6" thick? I just want her to come out with the truth and tell us how long she really spends at the gym so the rest of us can say how impractical that is for a real Mom and stop feeling bad about our 'muffin tops'!

Yes, it's true. I stay home with my two boys, I've been at home with them for more than 3 years. This is really a conversation stopper at parties, but that doesn't mean that it's the end to me hence the start of this blog. In my spare time I like to have babies for other people and to watch other people's children! I'm just teasing, I don't have spare time. I started with a video of my son Wyatt, I'll add more when I figure it out and have more time.
